Oatmeal Beer Bread
Posted by Celine on September 3, 2007
I had about 1 cup of flat beer used for the chocolate stout cookies the other day, so I decided to use it up while making some bread in the machine.
remember to look here if you don’t have a machine.
makes 1 1/2 pounder…
based on a recipe in Betty Crocker’s Bread Machine Cookbook
1 cup flat oatmeal stout
1/4 cup pure water
2 T softened vegan margarine
2 cups bread flour [lightly spoon flour in measuring cup, level it. repeat for each cup of flour]
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
3 T light brown sugar, packed
2 T soy milk powder [optional, but improves taste a lot]
4 t vital wheat gluten [optional, but improves taste a lot]
1 1/4 t sea salt
2 t bread machine yeast
place all ingredients in the bread machine pan, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
remove from pan quickly once the bread is done baking. let cool on a rack before slicing.

Another beer bread recipe, how great. Yesterday I made your other version (with spelt and rye flour) and I must say that it’s my new favourite!
