oh hai. happy Thanksgiving!

so easy to make! and chocolate-y, obviously.
the staple in our eating routine: Molasses Bread from Vegan Planet. only no raisins and walnuts in there, just dried currants that I need to finish since their expiration date is already behind us.
the husband tried it with Cassie’s Maple Butter, I haven’t had a chance to yet. but I got to sniff the buttah and had to be physically restrained from just hopping into the jar.
I had made a pumpkin cheesecake from the Joy of Vegan Baking, but meh…the oven’s bad mood struck again, and it was undercooked. so, nothing to show for it.
I also went through the fridge, freezer, and pantry to throw away things that were past their prime, or that I just knew there was no way I’d ever use. now I feel a bit lighter but also completely ashamed because of the amount of moolah wasted on all of this.
in the oven right now:
TB’s scalloped taters
chickpea ratatouille (you have to be an Herbivore Online Magazine subscriber in order to see it, but you know you’ve always wanted to anyway! click here for more info.)
I had a huge craving for both.
holy gourd, have a look at this Autumn Pumpkin Pie Cake! (scroll all the way down)
question of the day: do you lick your plate when you’re done eating?
I almost always do, no matter if the food’s sweet or savory; which makes my husband laugh and my taste buds rejoice. it also works well considering I never eat out but I probably wouldn’t do it if I did. or maybe hide under the table while doing it? foodie power, activated!
oh and, A Quiche to Build a Dream On should win the award for best recipe name ever.
finally, these red wine and maple-glazed carrots are absolutely delicious. go make them!

:-) hi Celine,
and Happy Thanksgiving…
thank you for the link to that awesome pumpkin pie/cake..that does look good…and a bit on the unusual side… will give that a try….
re: your question of the day …well, I scrape very carefully with my fork or spoon to get every crumb and morsel…. I have been known to lick “egg beaters” clean..( testing for taste of course) and then into the dishwasher…our Jill is an expert at licking…but does not get the plates…we do give her left overs and her bowl is indeed that is licked clean …fun topic :-) thanks

I ALWAYS lick my plate!!
I don,t know why, but i begun to do this a couple of month ago…. and since i work in a youth center with 12 to 17 years-old kids, and usually eat dinner there, they always make fun of me. But what can i do, i can’t help it.

Oh my goodness that pudding!! that bread!! yum!! since you’ve been raving about the smell alone of the maple-butter, I bought a jar of the stuff at Whole Foods yesterday!! I’m psyched to try it out!! :0D
I USED to lick my oatmeal bowl clean - literally (**hides in embarrassment**) - but now I don’t :0)

I lick my plate, but only when other people aren’t looking…

that pudding is a chocoholics heaven. ah. mm and molasses bread! I agree with Liz, next time I’m at WF I’m so buying a jar of the maple-butta. sorry your cheesecake didn’t come out as you had hoped. I had a disaster yesterday with a pumpkin pie, it was WAY too spicy. into the trashcan it went.. :( anyway, enjoy your thanksgiving!
