I swear it’s not an obsession.
March 6, 2008 at 7:07 pm | In Uncategorized |Will you feel like killing me [provided you didn't already feel like it before, that is] if I mention Damn Tasty Vegan once more? good! because the recipe for this bread comes from it. it’s the Basic Wheaty one, simple to make [without a bread machine] and absolutely stunning to taste. although I might try to bake it a few minutes less than the minimum Kris recommends, since my oven is temperamental like that.
in other news, my mama’s birthday is coming up next week, and being the absolute good food-nut she is, I decided to cover her in vegan book goodness. her loot? well, since you’re asking.
- Vegan with a Vengeance
- Veganomicon
- Vegan Cupcakes take over the World (do we see an Isa/Terry pattern over here?)
- Vegan Planet
not bad, but I feel I should have gotten her even more of them. maybe Yellow Rose Recipes? decisions, decisions.

Aside from Isa/Terry, I’m a big Moosewood fan. Sundays at Moosewood has such a great variety of dishes from around the world, it’s a nice fit for people who like diversity.
Hope Mom has a great time. :)
