The Teese Hath Landed

April 17, 2008 at 7:44 pm | In blahblah |

the Teese has landed

thanks to the amazing Leigh from Cosmo’s Vegan Shoppe!

mark my words: there will be tee-zza. (and it will be tee-levised too, probably on Monday so that Chaz can have a bite too. even though I’m not in a sharing mood…)

but that’s not all.

Dark Chocolate Brownie Bites

there will also be Dark Chocolate Brownie Bites!

Leigh? I worship thee.

I also worship what I just ate, which is probably nothing new for the oatmeal aficionados out there, but I’ll post it here anyway because I can. (yes, I really am five years old.)

Carob Oatmeal

1 cup cold unsweetened soy milk
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats

mix in a microwave-safe bowl. cook for 2 minutes, keeping an eye on it all so that it doesn’t go overboard.

add:

2 T vegan carob chips

stir until melted. let it sit for 1 minute, so that you don’t go burning your tongue like I did.

throw in nuts or other add ins if you’re ravenous.

  2. Yay! I can’t wait to see what you make/how you like it. I think about ordering some almost every day, but I always convince myself to wait. Maybe your review will tip the scales one way or another.

  3. I must try Teese, perhaps I should finally put an order in to an online vegan shop. Can’t wait to see what mouth-watering Tee-zza you make!

And womg, brownie bites! Those look divine, such an excellent photo too!

  4. or you could always come on over for pizza on Monday, Ash! :)

I know, Liz, I am a total carob convert now. boy, howdy!

I have super high hopes for this Teese-thing, Megan, I’ll be sure to update as soon as I get to have a bite. I hear it’s pretty tasty on its own, uncooked, so I wonder if I won’t give it a try. especially since waiting until Monday sounds like a long way to go.

  5. Oh, I hope you like it! We have been enjoying it immensely at our house. :)
And wow, your photo makes those brownie bites look super fancy!

  6. I have some Teese on its way! I can’t wait to see what you do with it. :) I know what you mean about getting to eat more of what you make when you eliminate the Luna bars. It’s quite a conundrum!

Your oatmeal sounds great. I make mine (also quick oats, usually) w/ water, then add grade B maple syrup and raisins. I’m going to have to try carob because it’s one of my favorite treats!

  7. I have some Teese logs here too! I’ve been trying them in everything from pizza to sandwiches to veggie bakes- good stuff!

  8. You’re forgetting one very important ingredient in the oatmeal, peanut butter! Every morning, it’s peanut butter and jelly oatmeal for me, you must try it! Those muffins look ridiculous and that cheese looks surprisingly expensive and gourmet. I’d almost be inclined to say that it looks good just from the packaging!

  10. Brownies should not be this easy to make! I could literally have a brownie minutes after desiring one.

I’m still on the lookout for Teese.

  11. I’ve never seen a vegan mozzarella before. But it seems great! i hope it’s as good as the original. Even if I’m not vegan I really enjoy reading your recipe!
    Thank you

  12. Leigh! I’ve had a few of these brownie bites and they are absolutely scrumptious. wanna know the good thing? they have walnuts in them and Chaz doesn’t eat those so that means MORE FOR ME. oops. did I just yell that? I’m so selfish, omg.

can’t wait to see what everyone who’s lucky enough to have Teese at hand will make with it. I’m still stuck on my idea of making pizza. pesto pizza. oh yesh…

  13. Oh MAN, I can’t wait to hear how the Teese is! I want to live vicariously through you! Or rather, your mouth… but you know what I mean.

You know one of my favorite things to do with oat? I like to soak them in water in the fridge overnight- the next day, they cook so quickly, and they become so unbelievably velvety and creamy- there’s no better way! This way, even long-cooking or steel-cut oats can be had in a couple of minutes! And my favorite topping combo is: tahini (or EB), brown sugar (or maple sugar or maple syrup), cinnamon and/or cardamom, walnuts and/or almonds. Dreamy.

  14. you want…to live…vicariously through my mouth, miss B? that’s kinda hot!
oooh thank you for the tip re: the oats! I have to try it. and tahini in it sounds absolutely delicious, now that my hate for it has gone for good. thank you thank you!
