Tagged and Whatisit?

Posted by Celine on April 27, 2008

Chili

Still trying to come up with a way of using these babies…
Funny thing is while I was busying myself taking a shot of them, I was freaking out that one of the cats would steal one and end up spitting fireballs at me as a direct result of this larceny.

Anyway, I was tagged by Kristina of the drool-inducing chocolate peanut butter gallery blog, so:

6 words to describe me. me me me me me.

foodie.
impatient.
shy.
stubborn.
athletic.
potty-mouthed.

I’m tagging:

Sophie of flour arrangements
Leigh of raspberry swirl
Jessie of cakespy
Bazu of where’s the revolution?
Jess of let’s get sconed!
Kittee of cake maker to the stars

sidenote: if I keep on adding fascinating food blogs to my Google reader, I will either:

a. get a “foodies anonymous” badge from the Google powers-that-be
b. observe while said reader implodes
c. have no time left for personal hygiene, family, friends, or food.

sidenote numéro deux: can anyone tell me the name of this mutant-looking flower?

I have no idea what kind of flower it is, but it looks very pretty. Potty-mouthed is a funny word! I hadn’t heard it before. I like it.
And chocolate peanut butter gallery? I have to check this out…

  2. VeggieGirl Says:

GORGEOUS photographs, as always - I can’t wait to find out what you end up doing with those dried peppers or whatever they are (and no, I have no idea what that flower is either).

    Love your 6-word description! :0)

Haha!!! I too keep adding blogs to my Google Reader - it’s crazy!!

  3. Leigh Says:

Ha. I have so many blogs in my reader that a few days ago Ken asked me, “do you ALWAYS have a new blog to read?”
The answer is yes, yes I do.
Thanks for the tag. I will add it to my next entry.

  4. kittee Says:

thanks for the tag, celine! i’m really overwhelmed with all the blogs myself. i feel guilty for excluding so many blogs from the roll on Cake Maker, on the other hand, there are so many i want to add but don’t have space for. if you discover one new blog you like, you usually discover another 30 from that blog’s roll. they just go on and on. then, i also want links to be included from their blogs to mine, so what to do??

    xo

  5. Silvia Says:

I’m impatient too and I’m trying to get rid of my shiness as with the job I’m doing right now I really can’t be shy..but it’s not so easy it’s something so natural for me.
As for the google reader..i understand and I hope I won’t tend to the third option for myself!! :-P

  6. Romina Says:

We use chilis in our pasta. We cut them up with scissors over our pasta and enjoy the spicy seeds and skin, mmm

  7. Eric Says:

Haha I am sympathetic to your plight! Since discovering google reader, I find that there aren’t nearly enough hours in the day!

  8. Eric Says:

Oh shoot, sorry for the double comment, I forgot to mention, I’m gonna be posting an onion soup recipe soon that uses crushed chilis :)

  9. Celine Says:

don’t worry about it, Eric! you can leave as many comments as you need. ;)
I can’t wait to see the recipe! Chaz isn’t fond of onion soup, but that’s never kept me from making a recipe anyway. besides, with the addition of crushed chilis to it, he might just be unable to resist it.

I like your idea, Romina. sides, anything that involves pasta is number one in my book. I will probably use a few for this, and the rest for Eric’s soup.

it is really tough to fight shyness, Silvia, I totally agree. fortunately I’m a bit less introverted than I used to be thanks to the wonders of the internet, and with age, but there are still moments when I feel totally out of place when surrounded with others.

it’s almost a good thing that my blog roll thing isn’t working on here, Kittee. I wouldn’t have enough room to list all the blogs that I love! I kinda like Cassie [from veggiemealplans.com]’s idea of selecting a few blogs, listing them, and switching to other ones whenever time permits.

can’t wait to read your answers, Leigh! I’m still working on something for you but I am such a snail these days that it’s taking me forever.

thank you for the compliment, Liz! you might see I have gotten a couple of excellent ideas to use the chilis with. yay!

I think you’re gonna love the CPB gallery, Bonnie. who could resist?

  10. Ricki Says:

Loved your meme choices–I can relate to the shy and potty-mouthed (though not on my blog, of course ;) ).

I use chilis ground up in a vegetarian version of vindaloo–you can use tofu or tempeh with good results. Fiery hot!

  11. bazu Says:

Those peppers look lovely! I would just crush some up and use it to make a spicy tomato sauce for pasta or polenta. Mmmmmm.

Thanks for the tag- I will get to it soon, I promise!

  12. Eve Says:

    wow. the flower is amazing.
the petal and overall look a little bit simialr to one of my favorite flower, “monarde” (i don’t know the english word for it, but it i think it’s in the same family as sage and rosemary)

  13. happyherbivore Says:

yay im not the only one when a potty mouth. yay for cursing bitches!

  14. Liz² Says:

egad, I know! I keep adding all these blogs, and they’re ALL fascinating and beautiful! I have to read them all! maybe hygiene is overrated, haha.

  15. Chocolate Lavender Bread Scrolls « have cake, will travel! Says:

[...] already plotting the next bread, and let’s just say it will make good use of the chili I was wondering what to do [...]

  16. Theosaurus Says:

Best guess on that mystery flower is hurricane lily. There are a few caveats, though. Does the plant seem to “pop up” after particularly bad rain storms? Do you live in the Southern U.S., and does it look something like this when it blooms?

p.s. (and the real point of posting on your forum)It’s absoulutely wonderful to see so much enthusaism and creativity focused on vegan baking. Your blog is an inspiration!

  17. Theosaurus Says:

Ahh, well… It seems that my computer savvy doesn’t extend to posting pictures on forums. You can find plenty of pics of hurricane lilies via Google, should you be interested. Sorry.

  18. Celine Says:

don’t be sorry, Theosaurus! I don’t think it’s the flower in question, though. I will google it some more to see if other pictures might bear a stronger resemblance.
thank you for this, and for the compliment as well!
