Simplest Frozen Dessert Ever, Possibly

I dug up a lot of peach Silk soy yogurts yesterday at the usual grocery store that shall remain nameless for fear people start to think I’m sponsored by them or work for them or what-have-you.

of course I couldn’t leave well enough alone, and had to go for something…a little more sinful. this wannabe recipe is so simple it’s almost embarrassing to post it here, but I’ll get over it and share the deliciousness anyway.

Simplest Frozen Dessert

4 x 6oz peach or any flavor soy yogurt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Melt chocolate in the microwave or in a double boiler, going slow in order for it not to get scorched.
Place yogurt in food processor. Add chocolate, and let her rip, scraping sides often to make sure all gets mixed & kinda thick.
Divide resulting deliciousness into 8 small serving dishes. Place in fridge or freezer: if you store it in the freezer for some time, you might want to nuke it for about 10 seconds to get a spoonable consistency again.

Yield: 8 servings

I don’t have any yoghurt, might try it with some silken fu and cream cheese and see what happens.

I only find hydrogenated tofutti here, but I can tell you it’s absolutely delicious with it. I used to make it sometimes using chocolate, sometimes using Mori-Nu pudding mix, and it was so creamy and luscious and perfect that I had to make myself stop, because of the unhealthiness of the cream cheese.
I’m still not over it, boohoohoo.

I sometimes freeze soy yogurt pops for the Guppy, but I’d not thought of adding chocolate…what a nerd I am! Adding chocolate starting, like, 5 minutes ago!

I’ve really been wanting to try something like frozen yogurt pops, so this looks great. But I can’t do peach and chocolate, seems wrong, like lemon and chocolate.

Thanks for the recipe! I made it with cherry soy yogurt – sinfully good! Plus, I made them into cherry-chocolate-fudge-pops. They are awesome!

lemon and chocolate go together really well, as a matter of fact. there’s a bar from Frey they sell at Target, and it’s delicious. my favorite bar? no, but tasty, most definitely.

I wish I had cherry yogurt.

    Lisa: go for evil. always.

That is quite interesting, I wouldn’t think it would turn out that well. Sounds great though. I would definitely use a cherry vanilla yogurt here.

This flavor combination sounds great. I’ve only seen vanilla flavored soy yogurt around here, but will now keep an eye out for the peach. Mmm!

Awesome idea! I think I know **the store of which you speak**, so I better get to my local one to hunt for some yogurt. Yum. My sister calls it the “used food store,” which is not quite accurate, but entertaining.

ha, used food store: I like it. used to be that all the food they sell was past the expiration date. they’ve apparently worked on that in the recent years, what a relief.

I wish it had been vanilla or cherry, but peach and chocolate truly go together well. who knew?

Nick: you need to start believing, dude.
