Aww, so fun that you and your mom baked those!!
Comment by VeggieGirl — August 20, 2008 #
Those are absolutely gorgeous. I can’t wait ’til my tot is old enough to bake with me. I hope we can create fun memories, too!
Comment by Jennifer — August 20, 2008 #
Those look awesome! Is that like a shortbread? It looks like it. Recipe, please?!?!
Comment by Virginia — August 20, 2008 #
Ooooooh. And, aaaaahhh.
Comment by Vegan Dad — August 20, 2008 #
I just sent her the recipe a moment ago, Liz, so she hasn’t baked them yet. soon, I’m sure.
the fact mom lives all the way in Switzerland makes it kind of difficult for us to bake together, Jennifer, but it sure was a fun thing to do back in the days when we lived closer, no doubt.
I know you’ll be making great memories together once your babe is at the right age, and can’t wait to read all about it.
it is a type of shortbread, Virginia, but you’ll have to wait for me to get feedback from mom before I post the recipe.

as long as there’s no “ew” involved, V-Diddy, we’re all good.

Cookies such as the above make me one happy happy happy cookie muncher. Who wouldn’t love a striped cookie? I bet zebras would like these too.

Beauitful! And I bet that taste pretty wonderful; they sure look it.
I never baked with my mom as a little one (because prepackaged doesn’t count), but both of my parents did cook a lot and good memories those times did make.
Comment by Veronica — August 20, 2008 #
They remind me of those packaged cookies you get in that big blue tin only with added tasty stripes. I’m pretty sure that’s a compliment too, or at least it’s meant as one! I don’t know what they taste like but you should top them with a sprinkle of turbinado sugar before baking!

Celine, this is a dream come true! I’m quite sure your mother will agree. (First I thought these were store bought cookies, shame on me)

Wow! Can’t wait for the recipe! I haven’t had these kinds of sablés in a long long time!

What a beautiful cookie tower! You are so awesome, Celine, and I’m sure the cookies are, too.

Those. Look. Amazing. But maybe I just have a penchant for eating zebraesque things…

Ils sont trop beaux ma belle! Tu m’as vraiment bluffé… des vrais sablés sans du vrai beurre? Dis moi que tu vas partager la recette - et puis, tu peux toujours me demander si tu as besoin d’une testeuse! Je suis partante!

Those looks delish. So Celine, have you thought about putting all these lovely recipes in a cookbook? If you haven’t, you really should!
