It really, really (Xa)gave you everything you wanted!

Look, Ma, it’s Christmas all over again!

Remember the post about Xagave? Well, it turns out that you can get your very own sample of the stuff.

Tell me of the tastiest and most creative way you like to enjoy your agave, and I’ll tell you who you are. Or, you know, you’ll be randomly chosen and stuff.

Up there on the pic is some berry frozen yogurt solely sweetened with agave, and it’s a good thing the temperatures don’t ever get too low where I live so that I can enjoy it no matter what time of year. Probably among the only two positive aspects of living where I do?

Deadline to enter this giveaway is the same as the other one, i.e. January 4 at noon (PST).

(After that, I’ll have to bow out of blogging for a little bit to focus on working, because deadlines are coming up soon and I’m going loco en el coco, just a little.)

Allow me to (now officially) wish you a happy 2010! May this new year bring you all that you want and deserve, and more.

Well, this may sound a bit boring but I swear it’s the most delicious thing ever and brings back so many memories for me. When I was younger my dad would always heat up some butter and honey as a sryup for our waffles- yes just plain ol’ eggo. But you’d pour it on and it would soak through and get all crispy on the edges and buttery and sweet…OMG. So now I use my homemade waffles or toast and heat up agave and earth balance and get exactly the same effect. Everyone needs to try this!

This is kind of weird, but I love to use agave to sweeten my sloppy joe recipes. I’ve subbed it for the maple syrup in the snobby joes recipe from the PPK, and I also like to use it in BBQ sauce and baked recipes. Maybe its the pairing with tomatoes? I dono, but it’s delicious!

I love using agave to sweeten cocktails and mixed drinks instead of making a simple syrup…it’s actually faster and more convenient that way! I also like using agave in salad dressings because it’s typically easier to pour out than either honey or maple syrup (I buy my maple syrup in bulk and measuring it out from widemouthed containers is hard!)

I made this soy-nog (“noel nog”) cheesecake with mainly cashews, soy eggnog and agave as the base. Oh and with a candied pecan crust. and rum caramel sauce… oh man. I’d have to say that’s been my favourite usage of agave so far. But I use it all the time – I just ate a grapefruit with a bit of it on there, and last night made some pasta sauce with a touch of agave instead of sugar.

When I make rice crispy treats with Dandies or Sara&sweets, i find that only adding agave brings the necessary consistency to make these treats.
This summer-i hope to make soy creams and sorbets with agave. or maybe almond milk agave ice cream. ZOMG.
