01.02.2012 Yes, MOO can.

I’m having fun shooting for Joni‘s book, but I’m getting ever closer to being done. Sniff.
Up there, her post-bloom and pre-bloom mega tasty pot brownies.
(No, not that kind. Just brownies made in terracotta pots.)

But that’s not even today’s most exciting news tidbit: The kind folks at MOO contacted me because they want to offer 3 sets of classic MOO Business Cards to 3 of you, and one of those über lucky people will get a set of MOO stickers on top of that.
MOO, I say.

I rarely accept doing giveaways where the goods don’t come out of my own pocket anymore, for a whole slew of reasons (and for the record, I am not getting anything out of this except for the yay-ness of seeing three of you win), but I’ve been a big MOO fan since finding out about them via my flickr account, what seems to be ages ago.

In case you’re not familiar with them, they print business cards, stickers, greeting cards, MiniCards, labels and postcards. Whew. You can either upload your own photos, artwork and designs, or select from one of their designer templates and personalize from there. Added bonus is that you get to print a different image on each card at no extra cost, if you want to. Because variety is the spice of life and of business cards.

The first randomly-selected winner will win the Grand Prize: 100 MOO Business cards and a MOO StickerBook (180 stickers included).

And two runners up will receive the Not Quite As Grand But Still Extremely Kickass Prize: One set of 100 Business cards each.

All you have to do is leave a comment below, and tell me what’s the latest kitchen catastrophe you’ve had to deal with.

Me? It was a chocolate espresso cake that overflowed and almost caused a fire at 3 in the morning.
Even the cats were smelling like an overrated coffee chain for days after that.
Don’t you wish your girlfriend/boyfriend were as smooth as me?

The winners will be randomly selected from the comments below, and announced on Sunday 4th, at midnight PST. Please remember to use a valid email address.
Rejoice, because this is an international giveaway – whoever wins will be provided with a promo voucher code so they can order directly from MOO, and this code covers standard printing and standard international shipping.

May the Force be with you!

Update: The giveaway is over.

- Grand Prize goes to Heather.

- Runner ups are Juliette & Stephanie. Congratulations to all!

  • When I get a bit tipsy I decide that it’s the perfect time to start cooking or cleaning. Once I came home at around midnight and decided that I should definitely cook my lunch for the next day – you know, to save time! I boiled the broccoli to mush, took the lid off and burnt my arm, and then put said scorching lid on top of my favourite tupperware, melted it and set the fire alarms off. My boyfriend was not impressed….!

  • I was staying at my grandma’s old house while my family prepared to sell it, and her cleaning lady had scrubbed the knobs on the oven so clean that she erased the labels for bake, broil, warm, etc. I thought I had figured it out, but everything I baked turned brown on top and my mac n cheese caught on fire (I was able to put it out early and save the prevoys cashew-based mac and cheese (cashews are like gold in my house). I soon realized I had been using the broil function for EVERYTHING. I was relieved to find out I could still bake without burning things. I thought I had lost the magic touch.

My latest kitchen catastrophe involved trying gluten-free baking for the first time. I found a recipe online for cake, and then I attempted to alter it into whoopie pies of a different flavor. What resulted were gummy and squishy little cakes. To add insult to injury, I also attempted a cashew-based frosting with it, and for that I added coconut oil and champagne. Do you want to know two flavors that DON’T taste good together? Coconut and champagne. They compete in a most unfortunate way. So I had to scrap the whole thing, which was too bad because gluten free flours and coconut oil aren’t cheap!

This sounds like a very cool giveaway for some great looking business cards. Thanks for hosting!

  • Kathy Hester says:

My latest catastrophe was trying to open a bag of tortilla chip and have the whole bottom open up instead of the top. They all crashed to the floor and my dog, Brenna, thought she won the tortilla chip lottery and eat almost all of them before I could clean them up.

How is that a problem? Well, she is allergic to corn. So she was on allergy meds for days because she was itching so bad that none of us could sleep (including her).
