Vegan Cuts

I received a snack box courtesy of Vegan Cuts a month or so ago, and let me tell you we made those snacks go POOF in less time that it took me to write this post. I don’t even know what to say for myself. Snacks are a terrible thing to waste? I’m a slow writer?

If you’re new to Vegan Cuts, check this out, and you’ll be somewhat caught up. In short, they’re a vegan company that aims at letting you know all about the newest and/or greatest vegan products on the market, shipped right to your door. Their snack box is a monthly-delivered package ($19.95 per box, including shipping in the States) in which you’ll discover a variety of goodies to hopefully become infatuated with.

Here’s a list of a few things that were found in the February box. (Note that I wanted to link solely to Vegan Cuts because I puffy heart them, but some of the items didn’t show up when I searched there. So there’s a couple of other link destinations, directly to the manufacturer.)

Fruity Hearts, seen above: I used to live on the less natural version of this type of candy even when I was old enough to know better. These ones are far better for you (they contain vitamin C), made with organic sweeteners and juice, watermelon- and cherry-flavored, and also very well received by Chaz, the in-house expert candy eater.

Sjaak‘s organic heart of cherry chocolate truffle: In case you already forgot because your memory is as crappy as mine, February = Valentine’s Day month. Which explains the heart theme of the February box, a really nice touch. There can be nothing wrong with dark chocolate that surrounds a heart of cherry.

Simply 7 lentil chips: I’m ashamed to admit I used to love eating puffy shrimp-flavored chips, but not ashamed enough not to tell you that these taste a lot like those. I fear I will order many, many more of what turned out to be one of the two favorite finds out of the box.

Dang coconut chips: Slightly salty, slightly sweet, coconutty, and also crunchy. This is number two. As in, favorite find number two.

Serengeti Tea: These sticks filled with various tea blends are fun and handy. My favorite of the three I received was the chamomile blend; I’m on an herbal tea kick, and its subtly fruity flavor made it an awesome and refreshing treat that would be perfect as a summer beverage too.

♥ Sunflower Star Chai Budi bar: I was super excited about this bar because it smells like Christmas and childhood memories, plus look how pretty!
Unfortunately, I ate it when my throat was rawer than the bar itself and I found it bitter. I didn’t have a bitterness problem with the other food I ate that day so I’m not sure my throat was the culprit, but take this with a grain of salt. Make that a lozenge for me. I should say that the bitterness didn’t keep me from eating the whole thing (love the texture), even though it supposedly represents two servings. Don’t judge me. Judgers.

♥ Peppermint-flavored Merry Hempsters lip balm: I have loved those merry hempsters ever since I met their lip balm at Food Fight, back in 2009. Love will keep us together. My lips need good food as much as I do, and this lip balm is one of the few that does the trick for me.

Isn’t it awesome how so many vegan products and vegan (or vegan-friendly) companies are popping up these days, so much so that you’d almost have to beat them off with a stick? Not that you ever would because hello, vegan products and companies: we really, truly can’t get enough of you.

Those Sjaak’s cherry hearts are addictive! I bought seven at work, intending for them to end up in my partner’s gift box. I ate them all on the drive home. I bought five more the next day, and he managed to get 3 of them.

I am so jealous you got one of the boxes! I have always wanted to get one of those, and I love getting mail, lol ;-) I am glad you didn’t let the snacks go to waste and that you enjoyed (most) of them!

I love lentil chips and those gummy hearts look right up my street too. I’d have definitely destroyed this box in less time than it took me to write the post!

I have to say, they sent me box to review, and I got hooked! Now I subscribe and get one every month! I love all the goodies and I love anticipating a box full of new treats every month. :)
