Who?
well, hello! I guess you might like to know who is hiding behind this “all floured up” apron, so here’s a little something about me.
my name is CĂ©line, and I’m seriously too hooked on baking vegan goodies (and cooking too, although I find it less fun than baking!) for my own good.
a few random things? if you insist:
- I have two cats named Buffy and Willow, because baking is obviously not the only thing I’m hooked upon.
- I was born in Switzerland and lived there for 25 years, then packed my bags to come live with my now-husband in California. vive the internet!
anyway, if you speak a language other than English, feel free to try me in French [my mothertongue], German, or Italian. I don’t promise much when it comes to German, but we should be able to work something out in Italian. dammit.
- I’m a bike fanatic and don’t own a car. I save on gas but not on the food I need to keep my biking energy levels up. food tastes better than gas anyway…
- I went vegetarian over 15 years ago, vegan in January of 2005.
- I have no formal training in any culinary art. which can sometimes be fairly obvious…
okay, it’s getting to be a little embarrassing to make it all about me!me!me!me!, but go ahead and leave comments on my blog if you feel like it, so that I can learn things about you instead!
thank you for visiting!

you are so cute, and i adore your food pictures :) <3
thank you Kristen! I look cute? really? I hide my real face really well then. ;p
You’re site is awesome! I wish you would come to my house and bake for me. In lieu of that, I’ve added you to my food faves.
I live in CA too :)
What a very sweet introduction… I’ve gone the other way from an English speaking country to German… I love your food pics - now I want to get to know your blog. Viel Spass!
I wish I could bake for you, Avery! thank you for visiting here. :)
where in CA, HH? I’m 3 hours away from LA. not far from Fresno. I don’t dare say the name. how about the armpit of CA, does that tell you enough?
Cesca: what a coincidence! how are you liking it there in Germany? do you speak the language? I had the hardest time learning German back in the days and am afraid I lost everything I managed to learn in no time at all. meep!
absolutely beautiful and charming blog…
thanks for finding me so that i could find you
I am so excited to have stumbled onto your site. It is so great of you to post all of your goodies online. I am not a cook, but I try to be for my family. I look forward to trying your recipes.
thank you Christian! I’m sure you’re a great cook, and it’s awesome that you’re doing it for your family!!
thank you for the kind words, Claudia. I am a big fan of your blog as well. :)
