Still my favorite meal of the day. And still my favorite tablescape to shoot, because I have a short attention span and it usually isn’t very tricky for something breakfast-y to look decent with little effort. So here’s a bunch of not-entirely-recent breakfast pictures as well as links to eventual recipes or store-bought bars and cereal. With loads of berries, please.
1. Pancaking. I used to be terrible at it (see mention of short attention span above) but as long as recipes don’t yield a thousand of them, I’m doing okay.
3. Earl Grey & Strawberry Granola, with a combo of brown rice syrup and agave to replace the honey. I’ll be making my own dried strawberries from now on because they are so costly otherwise. Plus I forgot there was one of those silica baggies in the package to keep moisture away and almost added it to a muffin batter. How quaint.
5. GoMacro bars. Chewy, healthy goodness. A less sugary alternative to my other favorite bars: Clif, Luna, and Vega Protein+. (← OMG the chocolate caramel flavor. Definitely more of a candy bar than a breakfast bar though.)
7. Peace cereal. My whole family’s absolute favorite, with unsweetened cashew or almond milk.
Looking at all these berries, I wish our homegrown summer harvest had been a little more fruitful (bad pun entirely intended). Alas it’s been a crappy year and nothing thrived for very long in our garden. Maybe I just have a dark, dark thumb. Maybe all I have to do is look at a plant for it to give up. Whimper.
